World Unity Day

Hello! On the occasion of birth anniversary of Shri. Vallabh bhai Patel ,Government of India has decided to celebrate National Unity Day!

To support the noble cause , District Sports Office , Nehru Yuva Kendra, Pune Municipal Corporation and Action for Pune Development is organising a rally on 31st October from BMCC ground to Police Ground at 7am! 

I kindly request everyone to be present for the rally and contribute towards the unity of nation!

International Youth Social Service Day 2014

International Youth Social Service Day, celebrated on 6th September 2014, was an initiative by Action for Pune Development supporting United Nations My World 2015 , World We Want and I'm a City Changer Campaign.

Collaborating with different institutions,  Various activities promoting various social causes like Traffic awareness, Cleanliness, Collecting food grains for under privileged people, My World Survey and various other activities all around the world. Youths from different parts of the WORLD supported the cause. We received maximum support from Indian Youths reaching the target of 50 thousand young population.

 APD compliments your efforts to reach to young women and other marginalized groups of youth.

Ms. Shivani Pise, General Secretary, Action for Pune Development was the Convenor for the activity.

Second APD Dinner Meet

On Saturday, 18th October 2014, Action for Pune Development had its Second Dinner Meet, at Regalia Restaurant, Baner.

The main purpose of the meet was distribution of My World 2015 and IYSSD 2014 Certificates.

However, the surprise element was the Outstanding Contribution Award. 
This award was received by Ira Ghosh, Shivani Pise, Ishaa Pantsachiv, Tanvi Kanade and Nikhil Khanzode for their outstanding contribution towards APD and all the activities.

It wasn't much of a formal evening, as the atmosphere was healthy with fun, dance, food and music.

Paper Bag Project

Action for Pune Development collaborated with Maharahtriya Mandal School for paper bag making project. Over 500 students made paper bags along with the members of APD. We could make over 1000 paper bags and we distributed them in various stores. We sincerely thank Ms. Rupali Mehendale Ma'am for making supporting us in making this project a success!
The bags which were made by students were distributed in Medical Stores, General Stores etc.

Plastic Caps Distribution

Action for Pune Development inaugrated and distributed 500 
plastic caps and gloves to chefs , workers of MIT college 
canteen. This project will be carried on forever. The motive behind the project is to maintain hygeine and cleanliness in college canteens. The activity was inaugrated by ACP Umbarje , Pune Police and Mr. Vishal Shah , Brahma Hotel. 
110 volunteers of Action for Pune Development were present for the activity!

Distribution of Emergency Cards

There are situations, in which many a times it becomes difficult to Contact a Person's friends or relatives in times of some Emergency.

After thinking on this, Action for Pune Development took up an activity, wherein we distributed 75000 Emergency Cards, and plan to distribute more in the future.

These cards have the Contact Details of the Person and of another Person, who can be contacted in Emergency.

Tree Plantation Drive with Radio City 91.1

On 5th June 2014, Action for Pune Development in collaboration with Radio City 91.1 organised a Tree Plantation Drive for the Third Year Consecutively. 5th June, which is also the World Environment Day, and APD conducts this activity every year.
This year, it was done with collaboration with Radio City 91.1 at Vetal Tekdi.
Total 120 saplings were planted.

Traffic Awareness Rally conducted at Maharashtriya Mandal School

On 6th of September every year, Action For Pune Development celebrates International Youth Social Service Day. This initiative was started by Aakash Shah to get the maximum participation of youths and to make them aware about various evils and problems faces by the society. This year,  We decided that we would concentrate on the priorities given in My World 2015 and World We Want survey. We combined My world 2015 and Social Service Day and approached various schools in Pune. Amongst all the schools, the one that gave us immediate support was Maharashtriya Mandal School which is located on Tilak road in Pune City. It was decided that the school will work on the priority 'Better transport and road' from the  My World survey. The plan was to have a traffic awareness rally on Tilak road, which is one of the busiest roads in the city and to promote traffic rules and road safety. All the students of the school along with My World 2015 youth ambassadors Ms.Natasha Kanvinde, Ms.Sawani Khurjekar, Ms.Krinjal Lalwani, Ms.Shreya Inamdar and I were involved in making various posters about traffic safety. The teachers of the school supported us immensely. All the youngsters that were present there felt like City Changers and supported another United Nations campaign 'I am a city changer'. On 27th August we set out for the rally. The five of us along with 5 teachers from the school and 500 students of the school. We started walking from the front gate of the school shouting out slogans, making the people aware as well as the students. It was a 2.5 kilometer walk and back to the school back gate. In this small walk we managed to make the students aware about the need of traffic safety, about simple rules like wearing a helmet, a seat belt, and how these small things can save us from so many accidents. I want to thank Action for Pune Development(APD), Aakash Shah (Founder and President , APD) , Ms. Shivani Pise (Convenor , International Youth Social Service Day , 2014) United Nations for giving us this amazing opportunity.
